President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday met behind closed doors with the President-elect, Gen. Muhammad Buhari, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
This is their first meeting since Buhari declared winner of the March 28 presidential election.
Most people believe that the meeting marked the beginning of talks on the transitional process ahead of the May 29 hand over date, while others see it as Buhari’s hand of fellowship to Jonathan on the Christians’ solemn day of Good Friday.
At the Good Friday service, Jonathan said he would remain silent on issues and activities surrounding his tenure as President until a time he considers right to open up to Nigerians.
