While speaking with BBC Africa said that the fight against boko haram is on going, he also said that for six years the Nigerian government as well as the military couldn't secure 14 local governments, so therefore he cannot promise miracles. But with commitment from other neighbouring countries and the international community as well as that of the Nigerian military, it will take a shorter time to deal with the insurgency issue.
On his promise to fight corruption and unemployment, He said " I made that promise and i hope Nigerians will give me the chance to see whether my effort will be good enough or not".
